New Map Highlights
Seabird Nesting Islands on Maine Coast
Friends of Maine Seabird Islands has published, in partnership
with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a large, full-color map
of the seabird nesting islands off the coast of Maine.
This decorative
and highly detailed map, 15" by 40", shows both surface
and undersea topography. It also shows main roads, county boundaries
and towns.
The proceeds from the sale of these maps, which cost $25 flat and $100 for a mounted copy, go
to the Friends of Maine Seabird Islands, a nonprofit organization
that brings together groups and individuals who are committed to
preserving and protecting these islands and the bird species which
are dependent upon them.
The maps can be purchased directly from
the Friends
of Maine Seabird Islands, Maine
Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Please send a check to P.O. Box 232, 16 Rockport Park Center
Drive, Rockport, ME 04856. The public is welcome to visit the refuge
offices - it's
best to call ahead at 236-3383.
